Women set to be honoured as super mums

27 August 2014

TWO local mums are being championed as top super mums.

Catherine Milhench and Carol Campbell are among 30 mums from across Northern Ireland who will be honoured at a Stormont ceremony in October.

Launched in March, the SuperValu SuperMums competition received over 200 nominations to recognise inspiring, gutsy and much-loved mothers.

SuperValu Ballynahinch’s winner, Catherine Milhench, was nominated by her daughter Melanie, for her selfless devotion to her three children and four grandchildren.

The Crossgar woman has given her time and love generously after two children and three grandchildren were diagnosed with a rare genetic disease. Despite suffering two heart attacks herself, she maintains a positive outlook.

SuperValu Downpatrick’s winner, Carol Campbell, was nominated by her daughter Catherine for her fearless attitude over the past two years after surviving two heart attacks.

The Downpatrick woman has worked tirelessly for charity Tickled Pink.

Catherine and Carol will now go on to attend the celebration event at Stormont on October 1.
