ARDGLASS Golf Club ladies brought their official golf competition season to a conclusion with a very popular waltz team event. 

Sixteen three-person teams competed using the 1-2-3 repeating pattern of scoring for prizes generously provided by sisters Paddy Ann Moore and Fiona Breen.  

Competitors were asked to provide items for donation to Fountain Foodbank and they rose to the challenge magnificently. 

Not only was there a substantial amount of groceries and toiletries, but some £185 was added through donations on the evening.

Shirley Lennon, volunteer organiser of the foodbank, was in attendance to receive the proceeds of the evening and she congratulated the ladies for their continuing support for the foodbank.

Ardglass lady captain Anne Conaty thanked the sponsors of the day and congratulated the winning teams.

Results: Winning team, Noreen Savage, Jeannette Hunter, Linda Campbell (85pts, last nine holes); 2nd, Jacqueline Gracey, Una Kelly, Geraldine Murphy  (85pts, on last six holes); Front nine,  Martha Hannity, Mary King, Margaret MacNabb (45pts); Back nine, Claire Rourke, Ann McCreanor, Michelle Doherty (45pts); Hidden holes, Marion Magee, Freda Sharvin, Sally Boal (15pts, on countback).
