Viking association makes a splash during two-day event

29 August 2018

THE Ardglass Viking Association held a two-day open weekend based at Ardglass Marina recently.

There was a great attendance at the event, though Saturday’s proceedings were cut short due to the weather. Sunday, however, did not disappoint.

The Ardglass Vikings introduced longship rowing to a new audience during event.

Many visitors were encouraged to take an oar and boldly row while others were happy to entertain a younger audience as passengers and do a spot of seal watching.

The Vikings particularly wish to thank Mr Twister (aka Daz Mortaboy), Kazadoodle face painting, SP Bouncy Castles, DJ Joe Synnott for the Christmas tunes and the staff and management of the Blue Donkey Bistro for their generous support.

Next year marks the 50th anniversary of Ardglass Festival and the Vikings wish the Festival Committee all the best for the 2019 celebrations.

Anyone interested in joining the Ardglass Viking Association may contact the group on Facebook.
