Ulster Bank to close Newcastle branch

Ulster Bank to close Newcastle branch

THE Ulster Bank has confirmed that its branch in Newcastle is to close in February.

The branch is one of ten earmarked for closure across Northern Ireland as the bank tries to cut the size of its branch network and costs.

The decision means Newcastle will have just a single bank operating in the town — the First Trust — when there was once four,

The other branches being closed by the Ulster Bank are in Dundonald, Portstewart, Tandragee, Aughnacloy, Donaghadee, Gortin, Newtownhamilton, Randalstown and on the Crumlin Road in Belfast.

The bank said it didn't expert staff to lose their jobs and customers will be informed of the changes.
