AN Assumption Grammar School student’s poster has been voted best in Ireland.
Saranya Nagineni’s award-winning poster will now go forward as Ireland’s entry in an international competition.
Sarasya won the local heat of the ‘Dare to Dream competition organised by Newcastle and Ballynahinch Lions Clubs and involving five local post-primary schools.
Saranya’s poster was one of over 100 entries which was judged by Robin McCaren, from Newcastle Lions Club, and Alison Herron, head of art at Belfast High School.
Saranya’s poster, which contained a poignant and inspiring quote, “Your dreams of today can be reality tomorrow if we work together”, was forwarded to the all-Ireland competition where it was won first place.
It has now been posted to the United States where judging of the international competition will take place. The results will be announced in February.
