Successful car and motorcycle event

Successful car and motorcycle event

27 August 2014

THE annual Killyleagh and Shrigley classic car and motorcycle event took place recently.

Organisers estimate there were 90 vintage vehicles including old cars, motorbikes, military vehicles and competition cars from the twenties to the eighties.

A number of classic racing motorbikes were on view including the 350cc Aermacchi machine which the late Brian Steenson rode to win the 1968/1969 Irish championships.

This car and motorbike show, now firmly established with both the local community and the car and motorbike classic fraternity across Northern Ireland, is getting bigger every year.

Organisers wish to thank Austin McCullough, proprietor of the Dufferin Arms, who kindly sponsored the tea and hot food.

Thanks also to everyone who participated including the behind-the-scenes helpers and the O’Brien family, who entertained everyone present with their fantastic music.

All proceeds from the event were donated to the Alzheimer’s Society.
