STRANGFORD A..........................................10
BANBRIDGE B...............................................0
WITH the league title already under their belt, Strangford A fielded a strong team and paid Banbridge B the respect they deserve.
Marty Trainor, who has been in great form all season, got the home side off to a good start with a straight-game win over Gary Smith.
John McCusker made it two in his match with Lorraine Smith, who improves with every week she plays and made her opponent work hard for his three-game victory.
Joe McConville has gone through the league season unbeaten and while he made it a hat trick of wins here, newcomer Brian Dawson clearly enjoyed playing the Strangford star.
Banbridge continued to put good scores on the card in the remainder of matches and, despite the result, can be pleased with their individual and team performance against the league champions.
The league title may be wrapped up, but there are a few outstanding matches to be played ahead of the handicap competition.
