Saints require final over to snatch win from BISC side

2 July 2025

SAINTFIELD chased down 143 to secure a four-wicket win over BISC in a competitive T20 league clash that went down to the final over.

After being put in to bat, BISC posted a modest total of 143/8 in their 20 overs, with useful contributions from Aziz Daptari (25 off 33) and Naga Suprasanna Nagineni (26 off 15). Despite a strong finish from Manish Shah (24), BISC lost wickets at regular intervals and struggled to build lasting partnerships.

Saintfield’s bowlers kept things under control, with Craig Gordon (2/22) and Andru Serdyn (2/35) among the wicket-takers.

Ethan Hanna was particularly economical, returning 1/18 from his four overs.

In batting reply, the Saints got off to a steady start, but lost Gareth Harrison early. Andru Serdyn continued his fine form, smashing a crucial 49 off 34 balls, including four sixes, setting the tone for the innings.

Despite some middle-order jitters, Andrew McCavera held firm with an unbeaten 29, seeing his side home with five balls to spare.

Saintfield finished on 144/6 in 19.1 overs, sealing a solid win in a closely contested match.
