Newcastle foodbank is presented with £1,250 by fleadh organisers

NEWCASTLE CCE has presented a cheque for £1,250 to the Pantry Foodbank.

The charity was set up in 2014 as a non-denominational response to a growing awareness of real need in the local community.

Newcastle CCE chose The Pantry as its nominated charity during the recent Co Down Fleadh held in Castlewellan which was hugely successful.

Through various raffles and donation contributed via collection buckets at every event held during Fleadh week, the branch was delighted to present the Foodbank with such a fantastic sum.

The money was presented to John O’Neill from the charity at The Lodge in Castlewellan who thanked Newcastle CCE for its generosity.

He also thanked all those who made donations during the Fleadh and said every small donation makes a huge difference.
