NEWCASTLE Lions Club will be taking part in next month’s Lions Europa Forum next in Dublin – one of the most important events in the Lions’ international calendar.
The forum will host around 1,000 delegates from around Europe, with the international president from India attending talks and workshops on many of the Lions’ global causes, including the environment.
Newcastle Lions Club are delighted that one of their members, Dan O’Reilly, will be sharing the club’s work on recycling spectacles, bicycles, sewing machines and hand tools with delegates.
As part of his presentation, Dan will talk about the work of Downpatrick-based organisation Tools For Solidarity, which travels with donations of sewing machines and tools to Tanzania and Malawi.
Mr O’Reilly said attending the conference will be “a wonderful opportunity for us to showcase our work at this once in a lifetime event, as we celebrate 70 years of Lions in Ireland”.
He added: “We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported our local Lions clubs.”
