A NEW support group is being set up in Downpatrick to help people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis and their families.
The Mid Down MS Support Group is a local body providing support, information and help to people affected by MS. The group provides complementary therapy, foot care and neuro-physiotherapy to its membership of almost 100.
The members from all around the mid Down area and beyond. The aims and objectives are to help those affected by a diagnosis of MS as well as carers and other family members.
There is a support group which meets on the first Wednesday of every month in the Millbrook Lodge Hotel in Ballynahinch from 7.30-9.30pm. The meetings are very informal, there is sharing of information about MS and many friendships develop.
It was felt there are many people with MS living in and around the Downpatrick area who would like to meet up with others affected by MS.
Instead of travelling to Ballynahinch they will be able to meet up in Downpatrick.
On Wednesday, April 18, a meeting will take place in Norma J’s Diner at the cinema complex, from 7.30pm until 9.30pm.
The new Downpatrick group will meet on the third Wednesday of each month. It will be an informal meeting giving everyone the chance to get to know others living with MS.
Everyone is welcome to in for a coffee and a chat with other people affected by MS.
