THIS Christmas The Saint Patrick Centre, in Downpatrick, is once again paying tribute to the wonderful legacy of C. S. Lewis by transforming it's entire exhibition space into scenes from his beloved series of children's books, The Chronicles of Narnia.
Children will be taken on an exciting journey through this mythical land and on the way they will visit the lamp post in the snowy wood, hear extracts of the stories told by characters from the books, cross a frozen waterfall and write their letters to Santa in the cosy Beaver's Lodge.
They will then pass through The White Witch's Ice Palace, sit on her throne before meeting Santa, Rudolf and their helpers.
Andrew Gibson, the Centre's Education Officer said: "After last year's overwhelming response with visitors coming from as far as Galway, we are inviting families to travel once again through the magic wardrobe into the land of Narnia.
"This year will be even better with a new railway scene created in association with Downpatrick Railway Museum and Christmas treats from our sponsor, ASDA Downpatrick. We are already receiving a lot of interest so booking early is advised."
Robert Ryans, general store manager from Asda, commented: "Asda is delighted to be supporting this local event which is a great day out for all the family - both local and afar. If the numbers last year are anything to go by we will be sure to stock up on mince pies so that no one misses out.'
Santa in Narnia opens on November 30 and runs until December 24 and booking is essential. To book please telephone 028 4461 9000.
