THE Patrician Youth Centre in Downpatrick staged their second live production of the year with a ‘theatre extravaganza’ performed by children and young people at the weekend.
Members played once again to three full houses on Friday and performed a matinee on Sunday afternoon entertaining school and public audiences with their dazzling performances of new and seasoned shows and musicals, along with an original drama ed by team members.
Performances included hits from The Greatest Showman, Little Shop of Horrors, Sound of Music, Chitty, Chitty, Bang, Bang, Rapunzel and Little Mermaid.
Drama, duologues, and a poem by Spike Milligan also featured in what was a showcase of child and youth talent in Downpatrick.
Senior youth worker Yvonne Maguire congratulated everyone connected with the performance — the production team, friends of Patrician, parents, and families for supporting centre members and the cast of children and young people for what she described as their “tremendous performance”.
She continued: “Yet again we see the dedication and commitment of our centre team and members in bringing another production to stage.
“We have a wealth of talent in our midst, our children and young people are championing the arts and gaining great confidence in process. A big thank you and well done to everyone involved.”
