22 October 2025

NEWCASTLE Lions Club has raised £1,000 for the Air Ambulance Northern Ireland.

The funds were raised during a street collection and pub quiz earlier in the year.

Lions President Beth Cairnduff presented a cheque to Colleen Milligan, from Air Ambulance NI, at a club meeting held last week.

In a presentation expanding on the work of the Air Ambulance, Colleen thanked the Lions for their donation and said that the club was one of the earliest supporters of the group.

The Air Ambulance is based in Lisburn and works in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.

The service began in Northern Ireland on July 22, 2017 and the first patient helped was  Conor McMullan, from Castlewellan.
