League honours for Downpatrick

DOWNPATRICK Tennis Club was among the silverware at the Belfast and District Tennis League’s presentation dinner at Belfast Boat Club on Friday night.

The U-18 boys team comprising John Wilson, Paddy Wilson, Ewan Martin and Ben Forde received a trophy for winning their division.

The ladies’ B Evergreen team of Clare Magilton, Twyla Gibson, Catherine Curran and Dympna Morrison won Division 3.

The mixed ladies’ team of Liz Jackson, Clare Magilton, Jayne Bassett and Anna McCartan won the Junior Knockout Cup after finishing runners-up in previous years.

The club would like to thank Christine Wilson for her support of the U-18 boys.

The club’s AGM takes place in Denvir’s Hotel on Wednesday, October 24.
