A CROSSGAR student has been awarded a graduation prize from Bangor University.
Twenty one year-old Ember Helen Alana Coates has been awarded the Pen y Ffridd Prize by her university after completing a degree in Zoology and Conservation.
The former Belfast Metropolitan College student said she was excited as another new phase of her life was about to begin and she was delighted her hard work had paid off.
She said she is now looking forward to having a career working closely with animals.
“I came to Bangor University due to the wide variety of courses and modules that the School of Biological Sciences had to offer,” she said.
“The curriculum was enticing and the location had a homely atmosphere.
“During my second year I had the opportunity to attend a field trip to The Gambia. It was an amazing opportunity and the experience I gained while away was so worthwhile.
“Observing wild animals in their natural habitats as well as meeting the local people was a privilege.”
