CROSSGAR girl Lily Magee has raised £680 by chopping off her long locks for a very good cause.

The 10 year-old has raised the money for the Little Princess Trust, a charity which provides a real hair wig to any child who has lost theirs due to cancer.

She got 38cm — nearly 15 inches — of her gorgeous long locks which will now be used for a wig while the money will go towards the charity providing other services to children with cancer.

A pupil of St Brigid’s Primary School in Downpatrick, Lily is already loving her new hair.

Her mother, Laura Magee, explained: “Lily finds her hair so much easier to manage by herself and she’s enjoying being able to look after it. She now curlers to do her hair herself.

Lily got her hair cut at Precious Hair Design in Downpatrick just before Easter.
