Children meet Santa at SERC

20 December 2023

CHILDREN at Little SERC in Newcastle got a big surprise last Thursday as Santa took time out of his busy schedule to visit them.

With his reindeer resting for Christmas Eve, Santa arrived by fire truck, ready to spread the Christmas cheer for all the Children to hear.

Creche manager Ursula Maginn said: “We were thrilled to have Santa visit us again and it is a testament to all the good boys and girls, mums and dads who are learning and studying at our Newcastle campus.”

She added: “We are especially grateful to our good friends from NI Fire and Rescue Service in Newcastle for escorting Santa, Prescribe Art Group & Sew ‘n’ Sew for making the tremendous fireplace background and gifts, Tesco Newcastle for their kind donation of a toy hamper for raffle amongst the students, parents and guardians both past and present for their continued support of Little SERC; and of course to Santa himself, for taking the time to meet with the children and to hear their last minute Christmas wishes and making the visit so very special.”

Santa was also delighted to meet some of the students, the Grinch and the teaching team at Newcastle Campus who work in partnership with local social workers and social care teams to collect and donate gifts for carers and older people who may be alone this festive season.
