CANADIAN singer and songwriter Loreena McKennitt will be Chris Scott’s guest on his show on FM105 Down Community Radio tonight at 7pm.

McKennitt has sold over 14 million records worldwide, attaining gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards in 15 countries across four continents.

She composed and performed a feature song for Disney's The Santa Clause in 1994 and another song for the Disney film Tinker Bell in 2008. She also has a number of film soundtrack contributions in Hollywood productions.

She is a member of the Order of Canada and the Order of Manitoba. In 2002 and 2012 she was the recipient of the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee medals and in 2013 she was appointed to the rank of Knight of the National Order of Arts and Letters by the Republic of France. In 2014 she was appointed as the Honorary Colonel of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

McKennitt talks about her Irish roots, growing up in Manitoba, her musical roots and other aspects of her life. Some of her music is featured on the show.
