BBQ in memory of John raises £3,750 for charity

A LOCAL couple recently held a barbecue and raffle at their home in aid of of the Marie Curie charity.

Sharon and Barry Quayle, who live on the Myra Road, near Downpatrick, raised £3,750 in memory of Sharon’s late father, John Fitzsimons.

The couple wish to thank the many people who supported their event, including Clare Magilton from Marie Curie, Deborah and Jerome Fitzsimons who supplied the entertainment and Duffy’s Killough who provided the barbecue.

Marty Lennon and Frank Holland were the chefs for the night and Sue Gray sold the tickets for the raffle.

There were also several sponsors including Haldane Fisher, Frank Holland, Eamon Hamill, Saul Road Spar, McGreevy’s Butchers, Greenan’s Bar & Restaurant and Michael Vint, from The Barn, Saul.

Sharon and Barry also wish to express their thanks to everyone who sponsored or donated prizes and made donations, as well as their family, friends and neighbours.
