‘Optimism’ as Bishopscourt Race Circuit goes on market

THERE has been “a lot of interest” in Bishopscourt Race Circuit, which has been put up for sale.

The circuit hosts a diverse mix of car, motorcycle and kart races, as well as track day events, private circuit hire and general testing.

The highlight of the calendar is the annual end-of-seaon Sunflower Trophy motorcycle meeting.

Past winners include motorcycling legends Steve Hislop and Jonathan Rea and the late Joey Dunlop.

Track manager Roy Biggerstaff said that while a change in ownership marks an end of an era for the track, he is excited for the future.

“The for sale sign only went up on Friday, but there has been a lot of interest expressed about the track already,” he said.

“There is a genuine excitement and I am very optimistic about the future of the track.”
