‘I really want to see the charity get a new home’

9 September 2015

A BELFAST family which regularly attends the CAPAA summer scheme presented the head of the charity with £420 on Monday night.

The money was raised by Liam McGahan’s grandmother, Marian McClune, with the help of ladies at Derriaghy Golf Club. At the start of the summer, the McGahan family helped raise £300 for the Downpatrick charity.

Liam’s mother Janine said there is “absolutely nothing” like the services provided by CAPAA anywhere else and praised everyone associated with the organisation.

“I really want to see the charity get a new home. Children are accepted here for what they are and Liam really enjoys the summer scheme.

It is really unbelievable the charity has been unable to secure a new home and I hope this happens really quickly. There is a need for this facility,” she declared.

Janine added: “I really hope the campaign for new accommodation is successful as the volunteers and families who support this service more than deserve it.”
