Young artists’ work in exam exhibition

27 January 2016

THE work of Northern Ireland’s most gifted young artists and designers is on display at the CCEA’s True Colours exhibition.

The examination board’s exhibition at the Ulster Museum is a showcase of the art work produced for the summer 2015 GCE and GCSE examinations, and is a must-see for art lovers of all ages.

Among the local artists displaying her work is Darcy Burrows from Down High School.

The exhibition was officially opened at the Ulster Museum by renowned artist Paddy McCann.

“It’s a real pleasure to see the level of talent being nurtured in our schools and colleges,” he said. “The range of work on show is truly inspiring and I am sure will inspire those budding artists and designers visiting the exhibition.”

Justin Edwards, CCEA’s Chief Executive, said he was delighted with the variety and overall quality of the pieces on show.

“The work displayed in this exhibition doesn’t look one bit out of place in the illustrious surroundings of The Ulster Museum, which now hosts the famous Rembrandt self-portrait,” he said. “My congratulations to all of the students with work on show in the exhibition. I am sure you are very proud, as are your family, friends and of course teachers.  CCEA will continue to bring this unique exhibition to an ever growing audience.”
