Winners in Saintfield floral competition

THE Saintfield Development Association recently organised a competition for the best floral display in the town.

A number of businesses entered the competition which proved a great success, with the town centre transformed with a number of attractive displays.

The Mill Housing Development was the winner of the large business category, with Massey’s Butcher and Delicatessen taking top honours in the small business section.

Judging was carried out by Rowallane head gardener, Averil Milligan and Councillor Evelyn Robinson from Ballymoney. She was nominated by the Northern Ireland Local Government Association which sponsors the Ulster In Bloom competition.

The plaques for the various category winners were made and donated by Tonia MacDonald.

Awards: Large business category — The Mill Housing Development (winners), Progressive Building Society (Highly Commended) and The White Horse Inn (Commended).

 

Small business category — Massey’s Butcher’s and Delicatessen (winners), Saintfield Orange Hall (highly commended) and Norr and Brown (commended).
