Spa Wells group delivers 60 good parcels to residents

22 July 2020

MEMBERS and volunteers of Spa Wells Cultural Association distributed 60 food parcels in the area recently.

The parcels were delivered to elderly residents and those shielding due to coronavirus.

While the lockdown restrictions continue to ease, the association says it is aware that things are still far from normal.

A spokesman said distributing food parcels was one small way to help neighbours, relieve social isolation and improve the quality of life of the local community.

Residents were grateful to receive non-perishable items and vacuum-packed fresh meat from Poole Butchers. The parcels also contained hand sanitiser bottles from Hinch Distillery.

The spokesman added: “Spa Wells Cultural Association would like to thank the Community Foundation for Northern Ireland, County Down Rural Community Network and Hinch Distillery for making this project possible.”
