SEAFORDE based model Caroline Taylor has picked up a top industry award.

Caroline won the ‘Face of Ciara Daly Make-up’ accolade at the fourth annual Shaz Awards, celebrating the rising stars of make-up In Northern Ireland.

Organised by Ciara Daly Make-Up and hosted by Marcus Hunter Neill, the awards were held this week in Belfast’s AM:PM’s Cabaret Supper Club.

The judges for the awards included make-up artist Paddy McGurgan, milliner and jewellery designer Grainne Maher, artistic director of Toni and Guy Ireland Ciaran Green and photographer Ross McKelvey.

Ciara Daly said Caroline was a worthy winner, displaying great commitment to the make-up industry.

“Her research, applied techniques and use of colour and inspiration topped the poll when being judged,” she said. “The calibre of entries this year meant they were very tough to judge, and an indication that Northern Ireland’s make-up artists and students are raising their game.

“With many blockbuster films and TV series being filmed here in Northern Ireland, there is a real opportunity for make-up artists to gain fabulous experience and hone their craft.”

The awards night raised money for schools and sanitation projects in Cambodia, where Ciara’s friend Arlene Gormley is working to create a better way of life for the local villages in region.
