Santas come riding into town

THE 15th annual Saintfield Christmas Charity Ride took place on Saturday.

It was freezing cold with occasional rain showers, but it certainly didn't dampen the spirits of the Santas taking part or the crowds of men, women and children who lined Main Street to greet them.

The children were overwhelmed with excitement when they saw Santa getting out of his carriage at the Christmas tree and he certainly had surprises for them in his sack.

Hugo Duncan, Boxcar Brian and Gerard Dornan provided top drawer entertainment. Hugo kept the craic going and all three sang some Christmas favourites.

Ride organiser Joan Cunningham said afterwards: “It was all simply fantastic.”

Joan thanks everyone who helped in any way to make the day such a success, including the PSNI, and also wishes everyone a happy Christmas and a peaceful New Year.
