MERCURY Music Prize nominee and award-winning folk band Sam Lee and Friends is performing in Down Arts Centre on Saturday as part of a tour with Moving On Music.

Sam Lee has toured the world showcasing a fantastic repertoire of music comprised of traditional songs that have been learned from traditions and cultures around the world. 

His acclaimed album, The Fade in Time, continues to reflect Sam’s unique artistic journey and his live band carves a new, unconventional and contemporary sound. 

Sam has numerous accolades to his name including being a winner of the prestigious 2011 Arts Foundation Award. He also has several BBC Radio 2 Folk Award nominations, including Folk Singer of the Year and Best Traditional Track for the 2016 awards, and of course the Mercury Music Prize nomination. 

Saturday’s performance starts at 8pm, with the bar available from 7pm. Tickets are priced at £12/£10 concession.
