Saintfield nurse Patricia receives health awards

A SAINTFIELD nurse has been recognised by two healthcare awarding bodies for her hard work and dedication to the elderly, spanning 50 years.

Patricia McMullan, general manager of Nazareth House Care Village in Belfast, where she has worked for over 20 years, received a Special Recognition Award for the Health and Social Care Leader of the Year category at the Northern Ireland Health and Social Care Awards. 

The glittering ceremony  at the Crowne Plaza, Belfast, was attended by the Minister for Health and the Deputy First Minister.

Patricia leads the team of more than 100 staff who were also recognised at the Northern Ireland Nursing Care Awards in Titanic, Belfast. 

The awards are held to recognise care providers across the country, with the ceremony attended by distinguished representatives from AgeNI, Queen’s University and the Department of Health. 

Patricia said she was delighted to be recognised. ìI am privileged and proud to have given over 50 yearsí service to the care of the elderly in the local and wider community,î she remarked.

ìThese awards are testament to the hard work and dedication of my entire team in Belfast who put their heart and soul into ensuring that our residents receive the holistic care they deserve at this stage of their lives.
