Retired doctor says thanks to patients

SIR, — Following my recent retirement, I am writing to thank all the patients of The Green Surgery, Irish Street, Downpatrick, whom I have had the privilege of caring for as their GP for over 30years.

Having qualified as a GP in 1988, I was honoured to join the late Drs Jim and Valerie Hamill as their partner on February 1, 1989. We were joined in 1993 by Dr Patricia Deeny and together we extended the practice, not only in terms of the number of patients, but also in the expansion and modernisation of our premises.

I would also like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to all of the magnificent staff, both administrative and nursing, with whom I have had the pleasure of working. I will miss them greatly, but I know that they will continue to provide the same excellent level of service in the future.

In particular, I would like to extend my best wishes to our Practice Manager, Angela Brown, and the current partners, Drs Gerard Boyle and Aoife Ryder, who will continue to lead The Green Surgery team. I am most grateful to them for all of their support. I am confident that the practice is in good hands.

Finally, I have been deeply touched by the expressions of goodwill and kindness extended to me by so many of our patients. I will always remember them.

Yours etc,

DR MARGOT MULHALL, MRCGP,

The Green Surgery,

Downpatrick.
