Rehearsing continues for Strictly event

15 March 2017

A STRICTLY Come Dancing fundraiser will be held at Downpatrick Cricket Club on Saturday, April 1.

The fundraising event is to send wheelchair-bound Downpatrick mother of two, Nicola Feenan, to Mexico for treatment that could help her walk again.

Nicola, who is becoming increasingly disabled by symptoms of progressive MS, hopes the ground-breaking treatment, Hematopioetic Stem Cell Transplant, HSCT, will halt or even reverse her condition.

Organisers are urging people to come along to help Nicola reach her target of £50,000 before her treatment appointment in mid-July.

The eight couples have been practising for weeks perfecting routines and getting ready to entertain their audience on the night.

With doors open at 7pm, the glitz and glamour will kick off soon after with the dancers battling to impress the judges in a bid to win the Champion trophy.  The Peoples’ Champion trophy will be won by the couple who raise the most money through sponsorship and ticket sales.

After the dancers have exhausted their routines on the night, those coming along will have the opportunity to take to the dance floor and enjoy the music by Island Events.

Tickets are £12 and can be purchased from the dancers, Tel’s Confectionary shop and the Cricket Club. So please come along and enjoy the evening while helping Nicola Beat MS.
