Raffrey Girls’ Brigade marks 60th anniversary at display

THE 60th anniversary of Raffrey GB took place recently with an evening of PE, marching, drama and singing.

The guest of honour for the evening was Lynda Bryans, Patron of GBNI. 

A number of special awards were presented when Holly Cranston, Niamh Haslett and Zoe McSpadden received their Bridader’s Brooches, the highest award a girl can receive within the company. 

Four girls received their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award — Jasmin Davidson, Jenny Hogg, Rachel Maguire and Chloe Wells; three girls received Silver — Bronwyn Crockard, Anna Hogg and Elizabeth Kittle; and four girls received their Gold awards — Emily Campbell, Holly Cranston, Niamh Hassett and Zoe McSpadden.  

Officers Shirley Fairbairn and Lenore Robinson received their 35 year long service awards.
