Praise for community as hall rises

A LOCAL politician is to feature in a documentary about Annsborough’s new community centre.

Councillor Stephen Burns is interviewed in the short film which focuses on the planning and construction of the new building.

The documentary has been commissioned by the Co. Down Rural Community Network to showcase the successes in the Rural Development programme locally. Councillor Burns described the successful delivery of the new facility as a “credit to the people of Annsborough.”

He continued: “They have recognised a need within their local area and designed and developed a first class facility to meet that need. This is exactly the type of project the Rural Development programme was designed to deliver on.

“I’d like to put on record my thanks on behalf of the people of Annsborough to the Co. Down Rural Network. Its ability to put the community aspersions into a plan and identify funding has meant the facility is now a reality.”

Councillor Burns said work on the first phase of the community centre is scheduled to completed before the end of the year.
