Police name man killed in Castlewellan crash

THE 28 year-old man who died in a traffic accident near Castlewellan in the early hours of this morning was Daryl Shaw.

Mr Shaw, from the Castlewellan area, died in a one vehicle collision on the Newcastle Road at around 1.45am.

Local SDLP councillor, Laura Devlin, said it was a tragic event. “To wake to such tragic news is devastating,” she said.

“I live on the Drumee Road just opposite where this collision occurred. My thoughts and prayers are with the family of this young male at this awfully difficult time.”
