Newcastle’s Fiona scoops PR awards

30 October 2019

THE public relations and communications work of Newcastle woman Fiona Hanna has been recognised with a string of prestigious national and international awards.

A former Assumption Grammar School student in Ballynahinch, Fiona was part of the Jago team which topped the charts at the recent Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) PRide Awards 2019 in Belfast as the practice took home the most awards on the night.

Fiona was personally presented with the ‘outstanding young communicator’ sliver award at the ceremony.

Jago also picked up a total of nine awards across a range of categories, with Fiona integral to the delivery of many of the client projects across Ireland.

The practice was lauded for its creative national and international approach in categories relating to corporate and business communications, tourism PR to digital and influencer communications.

Fiona and the Jago team will also head to London on November 5 for this year’s International Travel and Tourism Awards.

The awards celebrate the very best of travel and tourism on a global scale, from Europe, the USA and Africa to the Caribbean, with Jago and its client, Tourism Northern Ireland, selected as finalists for the Best PR Campaign.

Founder and managing director of Jago, Shona Jago-Curtis, said: “While I am deeply proud of all our awards, I am also particularly delighted for our fantastic colleague Fiona who picked up a much-coveted young communicator of the year silver award in Belfast recently.”

Fiona works with the team to deliver targeted campaigns with an increasing demand from clients across a range of export sectors from technology to tourism, manufacturing to construction, food and drink and financial services.
