THE death of Mrs Veronica May Rice, of Carlisle Avenue, Ballynahinch, in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast, has been widely mourned.
Mrs Rice (née Elliott), who was 71 and was widowed, was a retired housewife who enjoyed cooking, knitting, gardening, reading and spending time with her 14 grandchildren.
She is also survived by her sons, Gerry, Terry, Chris, Stevie, Jimmy-Joe, Eamonn, Paul and Dessie, daughters Karen and Lesley, sisters Joan and Angela, sister-in-law Ethel, brother-in-law Terry and the wider family circle.
Father Desmond Loughran celebrated Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Ballynahinch, on April 22. Interment took place six days later in Anfield Cemetery, Liverpool.
