Mrs Maeve Black

MUCH sadness has been expressed at the recent death of Mrs Maeve Black, of Clinton’s Park, Downpatrick, at the age of 66.

Maeve was a lovely, kind-hearted woman who would have done anything for anyone in need of help.

Maeve came to Downpatrick from Ballybofey as a young woman. She met her husband, Patrick, not long after she arrived and they were married seven years later.

She enjoyed having her family around her and loved to see her four little granddaughters coming to visit.

She worked for over 40 years as a receptionist at Hugh J O’Boyle and enjoyed her work immensely.

Maeve loved nothing more than weekends away to her native Donegal and walking the family dog, Finn.

She passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, February 7.

Requiem Mass was celebrated by Fr Derek Kearney SMA, on Sunday, February 10, in St Patrick’s Church, Saul. She was interred in the adjoining cemetery.

Maeve is survived by her husband, Patrick, to whom she was married for 43 years, sons Alan and Stephen and four grandchildren, Sophia Rose, Daisy May, Lara and Mia.

The sympathy of the community is extended to the entire family circle.

Maeve’s Month’s Mind Mass will be celebrated in St Patrick’s Church, Saul, on Friday, March 8, at 7pm.
