Mrs. Margaret Agnes Allen

MRS. Margaret Agnes Allen, of Ballykeigle Road, Comber, who passed away recently at Edgewater Lodge Nursing Home, Donaghadee, was a retired sales assistant. She was 80.

She was born in Cregagh Street, Belfast, to Adam and Simpson. With her family, she moved to Magherascouse, near Ballygowan, where she met her husband, William Allen, of Ballykeigle.

The couple were married in Ballygowan Presbyterian Church on July 18, 1961.

Mrs. Allen worked in Brands and Normans in Belfast with her late aunt, Mary Simpson. She led an active life and enjoyed, cycling, gardening and old tyme dancing.

She also enjoyed attending Loyal Order parades and loved the sound of pipe bands, particularly those from Saintfield and Ballygowan.

Mrs. Allen was a kind and thoughtful woman who is sadly missed by her husband, daughter Grace, son William Jr. and all her friends.

The funeral service in Kilmood Parish Church on March 8 was conducted by the rector, the Rev. Stanley Gamble, and the Rev. John Herron, of Killinchy Non-Subscribing Presbyterian Church.
