Mrs. Etta McClurg

MRS. Henrietta (Etta) McClurg, who passed away peacefully at her Frederick Street home in Killyleagh, was a popular and highly respected member of her community.

Mrs. McClurg was a hard-working, kind and outgoing woman, who always had a smile on her face.

She worked in the mill in Killyleagh, the tannery at Shrigley and also as a home help. Her hobbies included knitting, socialising and music — she was a talented musician and played the piano at the Dufferin Arms in Killyleagh every Saturday night.

She also loved shopping and had a passion for shoes and handbags.

Mrs. McClurg was devoted to her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Brady, who died in February 2013.

The Rev. Hiram Higgins conducted the funeral service in Second Killyleagh Presbyterian Church on July 2.

Mrs. McClurg is survived by her sons, David and Sam, daughter Janet and grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Cyril and Maurice McCormick.
