Mrs. Angela Maria McKee

MRS. Angela Maria McKee (nee Flynn), from Racecourse Road in Downpatrick, passed away at Ulster Hospital on March 31. She was 63.

Her largely attended funeral on April 3 in St. Patrick’s Church, Downpatrick, concelebrated by Canon Sean Rogan and Father Brendan Mulhall, was testament to Angela’s popularity and respect in the local community.

Angela enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, spending time at home with her family, pottering about in her garden and enjoying walks in the surrounding area.

Following her death, many tributes were paid, acknowledging Angela’s quiet willingness to help her neighbours, especially the elderly. When her own health permitted she dedicated the last nine years of her life to caring for her ailing mother.

Angela is survived by her husband Alex, sons Christopher and Ciaran, daughter Maria, mother Bernadette, sisters Cecelia, Mary, Brenda, Carmel, Veronica, Martina, Colette, Marcella and Paula, brother Patrick, grandchildren Aisling, Shéa, Aoife, Hannah, Donall and Aimee, aunts Cecelia and Josephine and the extended McKee family.

She was predeceased by her daughter Gemma and father Patrick.

Angela’s remains were interred in Struell Cemetery, Downpatrick. Her month’s mind mass will be on Friday, May 2, at St. Patrick’s Church, Downpatrick.
