Mr Thomas Horner

MR Thomas Horner, of 195 Derryboye Road, Crossgar, who died recently in the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald, was a retired DoE road worker and a keen pigeon fancier.

Mr Horner, who was 83, was a hard working man who was devoted to his family and never missed a family occasion.

He loved nothing better than a win with one of his birds at Crossgar HPS. He was renewed for his ability to win at least a couple of young bird races early in the season and was always in the running, despite his years.

Mr Horner passed away after a short illness caused by pulmonary fibrosis, but was still racing pigeons until the day before he died.

The Rev Brian Small conducted the funeral service in Raffrey Presbyterian Church on May 20.

Mr Horner is survived by his sons, John and Ashley, daughters Dawn and Tracey, grandchildren, great grandchildren and sisters Kathleen, Agnes and Molly.
