Mr Liam McMullan

MR Liam McMullan, who died suddenly at the Ulster Hospital, Dundonald, on May 4, was born on February 25, 1960, the youngest of 12 children to Bessie and Barney McMullan, of Ballintogher, Saul.

He attended Strangford School and later De La Salle Secondary School in Downpatrick. He worked in a variety of jobs, mostly labouring and other manual jobs. He enjoyed gardening and was employed for a short time as a groundsman at Downshire Hospital.

Liam was a popular figure around Downpatrick where he acted as a ‘bookie’s runner’ and helped out when he could.

Recently he was a client at the New Horizons facility on the Ballydugan Road where he was involved in gardening and participated in many other activities which were available to him.

Liam is survived by his brothers and sisters — Louis, May, Joan, Brian, Sean, Kevin, Dermott, Assumpta, Dympna and Una — his many nieces and nephews, and the extended family.

He will be deeply missed by his family, his many friends and his neighbours. May he rest in peace.
