MR James Martin, who died peacefully at his home, 94 Stream Street, Downpatrick, on February 18, was a devoted family man. He was 81.
A retired labourer, Mr Martin — who was known to all as Jim — was married to his wife, Kathleen, for 60 years. He is also survived by his sons, David and Paul, grandsons Martin and James, and great grandchildren Nathan Lillyann, Alex and Eliza. He was predeceased by a daughter, Ann.
Family was paramount for Mr Martin — they were his world. He also had a number of other interests, including horse racing.
Requiem mass in St Patrick’s Church, Downpatrick, February 21, was followed by cremation at Roselawn the following day. His ashes were interred beside his late daughter on February 27. Fr Maurice Henry presided at all services.
