Mr. Geordie Withers

MR. William George Withers, of Cuan Beach, Killyleagh, passed away recently at the Ulster Hospital at the age of 62.

A retired labourer with Clarke Engineering, Mr. Withers, who was known by family and friends as Geordie, was a motorcycle road racing fan. He never missed a TT in 37 years and well known at local races.

He also enjoyed reading, walking, time spent with friends and enjoying the company of his grandchildren.

He was a member of Killyleagh Yacht Club and loved to socialise with friends and enjoy the craic. If there was a sing-song, he was in the middle of it. He will be sorely missed by his family.

The funeral on Monday, January 5, was from his home to Killyleagh Parish Church where the Rev. Jerome Munyangaju conducted the service. The committal was at Roselawn Crematorium.

Mr. Withers is survived by his wife Elizabeth, daughter Carrie, son Ryan, grandchildren Bailey and Emily, sisters Valerie and Christine, and brother Jim.
