Mr. Bradford McClurg

MR. Samuel Bradford McClurg, who has died aged 78, was a popular and well known member of the community in Killyleagh.

Mr. McClurg, who was known to all as Brady, passed away peacefully at his Frederick Street home.

He was a school caretaker by occupation and a country man at heart.

He loved country pursuits, particularly shooting and dogs.

In 1983 he was a member of the Irish gundog team which took first place at the prestigious game fair at Strathallan in Scotland.

He also won the individual gold medal with his black labrador, Don. Mr. McClurg led an active life and also enjoyed sailing.

He was devoted to his wife, Etta, and his three children, and was also a proud grandfather.

Mr. McClurg’s funeral service in First Killyleagh Presbyterian Churchyard on March 1 was conducted by the Rev. Hiram Higgins.
