More road works

SIR, — I’m concerned about the new set of road works due to start in Irish Street in Downpatrick.

I see the barriers up from Phoenix Gas and am wondering how there will not be a problem.

Those turning left out of the car park could end up in a jam with parked cars on the opposite side the road and traffic trying to get up Irish Street.

As someone who drives up and down Irish Street regularly for work it is busy enough I can assure you. I hope Phoenix Gas are on the ball with this one. That crossroads could quickly be in logjam.
