Miss Jean McIlroy

MISS Elizabeth Jean McIlroy, formerly of The Hill, Mearne Road, Downpatrick, and later of 4 Abbeyfield, Downpatrick, died recently at Glenmachan Tower Nursing Home in Belfast. She was 95.

An unassuming, kind and quiet lady, she was highly respected in her community, both in her occupation as a registrar of births, deaths and marriages and in her private life.

Her many interests included tapestry, sewing, reading and travel. She had a loving family circle and many friends.

She is survived by her brother-in-law, Corry McBride, nephew David McIlroy and nieces Barbara McBride and Heather Scott.

The Rev Owen Patterson conducted the funeral service in Downpatrick Presbyterian Church on September 17.
