Local winners of Boys’ Brigade competition presented with prizes at Ballynahinch service

THIS year’s Boys’ Brigade Anchor Boys creative competition was to design a Superhero mask based on the ure course on Bible heroes.

Each company had to choose their best entries from P1, P2, P3 and P4 and send them to BB Northern Ireland District and to Down Battalion to be judged.

The following boys received a certificate and medal for their entry at Down Battalion’s Anchor Boys service in Ballynahinch Congregational Church.

The four overall winners and runners up also received special prizes.  In the Northern Ireland District, Oscar Wilson, from 2nd Ballynahinch, won first prize for his P4 entry.

P1 winners: Dean Hilland (2nd Ballynahinch), Jonah Fegan (1st Banbridge), Freddie Watson (1st Clough), Noah Graham (1st Kilkeel), Adam Rogers (3rd Kilkeel), Oliver Evans (1st Loughaghery), Jack  McDowell (1st Rathfriland), Jack Curran (1st Slieve Donard), Jonah Graham (1st Spa).

Overall winner, Jaxon Prince (1st Raffrey); runner-up, Isaac Purdy (2nd Annalong).   

P2 winners: Hudson McDowell (2nd Annalong), Thomas McConnell (2nd Ballynahinch), Henry McCartan (1st Banbridge), James Martin (1st Clough), Alfie Orr (1st Crossgar), Carter Stewart (3rd  Kilkeel), Kit Morrison (1st Loughaghery), Caleb Curran (1st Raffrey), Finley Rolston (1st Rathfriland), Harry Chambers (1st Slieve Donard), George Henry (1st Spa).

Overall winner, Harry Campbell (1st Kilkeel); runner-up: Seth Malcomson (1st Donaghmore).

P3 winners: Alexander Wilson (2nd Annalong), James Kelly (1st Banbridge), Adam Watson (1st Clough), Ewan Edwards (1st Crossgar), Iain Graham (1st Donaghmore), Logan Hanna (1st Kilkeel), Jay Graham (3rd Kilkeel), Daniel Strong (1st Loughaghery), Luka Kernaghan (1st Raffrey), Noah McDowell (1st Slieve Donard), Charlie Montgomery (1st Spa).

Overall winner, Tommy Henning (1st Rathfriland); runner-up, Bryce Massey (2nd Ballynahinch). 

P4 winners: Sam Gordon (2nd Annalong), Archie Edgar (1st Clough), Joshua Carson (1st Crossgar), Aaron Magowen (1st Donaghmore), Mark McMath (1st Kilkeel), Ben Pratt (1st Loughaghery), Angus Neill (1st Raffrey), James Hall (1st Rathfriland), Olly Hanna (1st Slieve Donard), Matthew Graham (1st Spa). Overall winner, Oscar Wilson (2nd Ballynahinch); runner-up: Frankie Charleton (3rd Kilkeel).
