Lions appeal was a success

SIR, — On behalf of the President and Members of Ballynahinch Lions Club, I wish to thank all those who donated to the Christmas Food Appeal collection on Friday, December 2. The shop collections raised the meaningful sum of £350 and sufficient food to allow us to distribute a total of 51 food hampers to 137 people in the local area.

The Club also wishes to take this opportunity to thank the following local stores which kindly facilitated our food appeal; Supervalu, Joe Hannas, Carlisles Fresh Foods and Morrisons Vivo Store.

Our thanks also to Down District Council for the use of the Market House to sort the food donations and prepare the gift hampers.

Yours etc.,

MICHAEL PORTER,

Secretary,

Ballynahinch Lions Club.
