Killyleagh road work praised

SIR, — Work on a major resurfacing and storm drainage improvement scheme at the Comber Road in Killyleagh has been completed.

New kerbs have also been provided and the work will make a major difference to both motorists and pedestrians.

I would like to thank Roads Service officials Hugh Morgan and Philip Watson for their efforts in progressing this particular scheme and praise must also go to the contractors who carried out the work. McIlwaine’s delivered an excellent project and the resurfacing scheme is really excellent.

As a result of this investment conditions for drivers have been considerably enhanced and during inclement weather people walking along the Comber Road will no longer run the risk of being drenched by vehicles passing through flooded sections of the roadway.

There was disruption while this work was carried out and I would like to thank the Comber Road estate residents for their patience and understanding.

I’m sure they will agree with me that the completed improvement scheme is excellent.

Yours etc.,

CLLR. BILLY WALKER,

Killyleagh.
